Crime 101 (2026)

"Crime... Boy, I don't know."

That quote from The Weat Wing circulated through my mind the whole two-hour and nineteen-minute runtime. And thank goodness it did, since it helped to pass the time in a film that needed to be forty minutes shorter.

When word leaked about this film, being a huge fan of the genre, excitement was high. The cast alone could start a fire. Then trailers were released, and interest was raised. I didn't get to see this in theatres, unfortunately, but I feel as if I would've fallen asleep without the power to pause and watch something else interesting in between.

Not that the film was bad, per se, but the lack of depth in a story this long really watered down the stakes. Ironically enough, the one aspect of a film with length that usually benefits from a longer run time is character development, and yet this film has four of the least interesting main characters in a long time. And while I enjoy Chris Hemsworth in his less serious roles, his lack of a single facial emotion in this film is baffling.

I can't say don't see this... and I can't say see this... if you like the genre, go in with low expectations and something else to do when the story stalls.

It would have been nice to see a legit car chase, the bike stuff was not good enough. Silly, predictable and unimaginative. I was hyped for this movie it’s one of my favorite genres as well. Hemsworth is a stone wall throughout. I called the ending way too early in watching. Give me some good car chases and conventional effects explosions goes so far into making a mediocre film into a watchable one. 👎
